A message from our Pastor:

The month of December is the most wonderful time of the year —Christmas Time!

This is a GREAT time of the year to invite friends, neighbors, co-workers and acquaintances to attend church with you. Sunday, December 4th, we will begin our Advent series of sermons. Christmas is about gift-giving. Maybe you will be searching for that ‘perfect’ gift for someone.

Christ set the standard for giving with His selfless love. Part of the demonstration of His love was not just in His coming, but the great distance traveled from heaven to earth. May we ever be mind- ful the reason for Christmas.

It is my prayer that our church services will be appealing to those you care about. Of course, the music will have a very “Christmassy” sound and the services will be special.

Mark your calendar for Sunday, December 11th. That evening we will have a special program at 6:30 pm entitled “Deck the Halls”. Christmas Eve we will also be a special service at 6:30 pm as we celebrate the Lord’s Supper.

Christmas Day is Sunday this year. Considering this, we are adjusting our Sunday schedule. There will be NO Sunday School on Christmas morning and our Morning Worship Service will begin at 10:30 am. We are expecting more visitors and we will focus our efforts on making those services very special. There are no evening activities on Christmas Day!

There are many other activities involving outreach and fellowship, and sharing the love of Christ in meaningful ways. The song declares—it’s a most wonderful time of year!

Christmas time can also be a time of great stress. How can we avoid this? I believe the best way is to put Christ into “Christ”mas. It is a time to celebrate His birth with those closest to us – our friends and families, including our church family. I encourage you to enjoy reading the Christmas story, pray for others, and involve yourself in the sharing of gifts following God’s example as He gave us His only Son.

I love how the Apostle Paul puts in Galatians 4:4,5—“But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons”.

Are you redeemed? I am so glad I am redeemed! I look forward to seeing you as we celebrate our Lord’s birth together. Merry Christmas EARLY!
